Description

This workshop is designed for hospice and home health professionals who provide care to individuals and families facing end of life transitions, death and after care support. Through stories, reflections, and practical tools, participants will deepen their understanding on the impact this line of work has on them and their staff while learning to care for their own emotional well-being.

This session will provide strategies to maintain personal resilience while supporting others through loss. Whether you are a seasoned nurse, social worker, aide, chaplain or support worker, this session will offer nourishment for the heart and tools for the journey.

Joy Bishop, LSCSW, MSW Therapist, Joy Bishop Consulting, Topeka, KS                                                                            Joy’s mission is to walk alongside people in their grief. Joy Bishop is a licensed therapist – MSW, LSCSW, Compassionate Bereavement Care Certification, Mindfullness Meditation Teacher Certification, Death and Grief Studies Certification and Compassionate Bereavement Care Certification. She is a leading professional in the field of grief and loss with 30 years of experience. In addition to her private practice, she facilitates seminars and speaks publicly, helping people find a way to navigate grief. She resides in Topeka, Kansas.

Continuing Education

Kansas Home Care & Hospice Association is approved as a provider of CNE by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. This course offering is approved for 1.2 contact hours applicable for APRN, RN, or LPN relicensure. Kansas State Board of Nursing provider number: LT0287-0314. 

Other disciplines will need to apply independently – a certificate of attendance for 1.0 CE hours will be provided.
