LOCO-MOTIVE: Get Crazy About Your Health

Description

Have you forgotten that the recommendations you give to family, friends, co-workers, and patients also apply to you? Healthcare providers and leaders often spend so much time caring for and thinking of others, they tend to neglect their own health, opting to “worry about it later.” The goal of this presentation is to shift that focus to one of self-care that can lead to a longer health span. The science behind three important pillars of health--nutrition, movement, and sleep--will be discussed, as well as the impact they have on your health. Topics such as gut health, brain health, chronic inflammation, fasting, exercise, stages of sleep, and more will be detailed, drawing associations between these factors and one’s nutritional choices. Finally, practical tips on how to incorporate recommendations into one’s lifestyle will be offered to stop that runaway train down the track that leads to chronic health problems to one of motivation toward longevity and vibrant health.
