Webinar Overview:  The health care delivery system continues to reengineer the continuum and the way we care for our patients.  Pressures to reduce overall costs of care while achieving excellent clinical outcomes has hospitals and health systems looking for solutions that won’t disrupt their ongoing operations.  Home health is one avenue of health care delivery that can help hospitals and health systems achieve their goals.  This webinar will outline the value proposition of utilizing home health programs.  We will also address the drivers of successful home health operations and the challenges they face. 

Objectives:  After attending this webinar, the participant will be able to:

    1. Outline the value proposition of home health programs 
    2. Identify the drivers of success for home health 
    3. Define the challenges that home health operations face


    Q&A Following the live presentation, time will be allowed for Q&A. 


    Target Audience:  Hospital executive team - CEOs, Administrators, CFOs, CNOs, CMOs, etc. - together with their home health agency management team.

    Mark Sharp, CPA, Partner

    Mark, BKD’s Home Care & Hospice Center of Excellence Coordinator, has over 20 years of experience assisting home care and hospice providers with audits, strategic planning, accounting, cost reports, projections, operating budgets, corporate integrity, agency start-up and mergers and acquisitions.

    As a nationally recognized home care and hospice consultant, Mark serves as Treasure for the board of the directors for the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC). Mark is also the immediate past chair of the Home Care & Hospice Financial Managers Association’s (HHFMA) Advisory Board, which provides guidance to the NAHC board of directors and NAHC membership on financial matters in the industry. Mark has been actively involved in HHFMA’s special task forces on home health PDGM, managed care, Medicaid, hospice payment reform, cost containment, and home health and hospice Medicare cost report accuracy.

    Mark frequently presents workshops or webinars on various home care topics for national, regional, and state home care, hospice and other health care associations throughout the United States, including recent presentations for NAHC, National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, and LeadingAge.

     

    Raymond Belles, Managing Consultant

    Raymond is a member of BKD National Health Care Group specializing in home care and hospice financial and operational consulting services.  He assists home care and hospice providers with operational strategies related to advanced payment models, defining and implementing successful operational processes and utilizing electronic medical record systems while focusing on operational process improvement. 

    Raymond’s 20 years of home care and hospice experience includes serving as director of operations for a multistate home care, hospice and private duty organization.  He also spent nine years with a national home care and hospice software company in various roles, including directing its consulting and education division, project managing electronic medical record implementations and, most recently, as a senior product manager responsible for clinical mobility and business intelligence strategies.

    • KHCHA Members:  Free
    • RIPHC Members:  $75/webinar connection 
    • Non-Members:  $100/webinar connection 

    Registration fees are based on one phone/webinar connection; multiple site participation for your agency will require a separate registration fee for each connection.  Sharing of registration or fees with other agencies and/or individuals is prohibited.


    Recording:  If you are unable to participate in the live webinar, a recording will be made available online through December 20, 2019.

    Registration Deadline:  Those registering for the live presentation must do so at least three days prior.  Registrations to access the recording (see above) will be accepted through December 19.   

    Confirmation:  Approximately three days prior to the webinar, a confirmation will be emailed to you.  This confirmation will include a link to access the presentation handouts and a link enabling you to access the webinar.


    CEUs:  Continuing education credit will not be offered with this presentation.


    Cancellations:   Fees will be refunded only if written cancellation is received one week prior to the workshop and no refunds after the dial-in number is sent to your agency. In the event of a written cancellation, KHCHA will retain, or charge, $25 of the initial registration fee for non-members to cover administrative overhead.
