Description: Patient Centered Care focuses on the patient as an individual and takes into account the individual person’s likes, dislikes and what makes for a “good day” along with the tasks necessary to carry out the assigned plan of care. This teleconference will focus on how to see the patient as a unique individual in providing patient centered care.
Presenter: Kathie Smith, RN. In addition to several management level positions in home care, Ms. Smith has experience as a Home Health Nurse Aide Supervisor. Prior to working for AHHC, she was the Manager of Home Care Initiatives for the NC Division of Medical Assistance where she assisted in overseeing home care policy. Ms. Smith has extensive experience in Medicare and Medicaid home health compliance and regulatory requirements and is a state and national speaker. Mrs. Smith is certified in integrated chronic disease management, is a master trainer in Coaching Supervision and served on the North Carolina management team for the Personal and Home Care Aide State Training (PHCAST) grant which has developed Home Care Specialty training for NC aides.
Convenience: Enjoy the convenience and cost-efficiency of a webinar – watch the speaker’s slide presentation on the internet while listening by telephone or through your computer’s microphone and speakers (VoIP). There is no limit to the number of attendees from your agency who may participate at your site using one phone line and a computer with internet access.
Confirmation: Prior to the webinar, a GoToWebinar link will be e-mailed to you. You will need to register through this link to attend the webinar. You will be sent a confirmation which will include a join link to access the webinar, a dial-in number and an access code to listen in via telephone. You will also be sent any pertinent handouts, if available, an evaluation and certificate. The webinar will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST, 2:00 to 3:00 pm CST.
