Home Health Face-to-Face: Cut Through The Confusion!
Monday, June 15, 2015
2:00 to 3:30 p.m. CST
Drowning in paperwork? Home Health F2F continues to cause much confusion for providers. This webinar will bring agencies up-to-date with CMS’ current decisions regarding face to face documentation and offer guidance taken from CMS on how to determine if the documentation you have will stand up to medical review. The presenter will provide up-to date information on what the agency can and cannot add to the documentation and provide resources to assist you in making the best decisions!
Is your agency feeling the challenge to obtain compliant F2F documents from your physicians? The Comprehensive Error Rate Testing (CERT) program has been focusing on Adequacy of F2F documentation and finding that most do not include sufficient documentation. The Office of Inspector General has also done a study on Face-to-Face documentation and recommended that CMS needs to provide clearer instruction and standardized documents to assist in obtaining adequate documentation. CMS has directed the MACs to closely monitor the F2F forms resulting in continued denials of up to 50% of the documents submitted.
Any F2F denial means that the HHA will not receive any payment for the SOC episode and what's worse, if you did not have a valid F2F for the SOC episode, your agency will not be paid for subsequent episodes either!
Obviously this continues to be a hot spot in home health today. This 90 minute program will provide an overview of some of the latest clarifications on F2F requirements as well as examples of adequate versus inadequate documentation and some tips to try to keep your F2F encounters from totally disrupting your agency's operations and cash flow.
